At Tripleseat, we are committed to creating the finest event management solutions for businesses and individuals. Our application, built on Ruby on Rails, has revolutionized how our clients plan and execute events. As we scale and evolve our product, we are in search of a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team.

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and proactive individual who will ensure smooth and efficient development operations. The ideal candidate is well-versed in managing AWS environments, is familiar with Ruby on Rails, and has experience with RDS MySQL, Elasticache Redis, Elasticache Memcache, Sidekiq, Sphinx, and New Relic.

This position is a fully remote role for eligible candidates based in the United States.

What you will do:

  • AWS Infrastructure Management: 
    • Manage, improve, and scale AWS infrastructure components, including EC2, RDS MySQL, Opensearch, Elasticache, and ECS.
  • Automation and Security:
    • Develop and maintain automated deployment processes, system configurations, and security settings using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or Terraform
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Monitor system performance using tools like New Relic and implement necessary improvements 
    • Implement and manage continuous integration and deployment systems
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the development team to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance and integrate CI/CD practices
  • Documentation and Continued Learning:
    • Maintain documentation of processes, systems, and application configurations.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new tools, and best practices related to DevOps and Ruby on Rails.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven DevOps Experience:
    • Demonstrated experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar software development and system administration role.
  • AWS Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of AWS services, specifically EC2/ECS, RDS MySQL, Elasticache Redis, Elasticache Memcache, and Sidekiq.
    • Certifications in “ PLEASE FILL IN  “ a plus 
  • System Knowledge:
    • Experience with performance monitoring tools like New Relic.
    • Familiarity with Elasticsearch/Opensearch document databases and their integration with Ruby on Rails.
    • Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, including experience in deploying Rails applications at a production scale.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and adapt to a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities.
